Ezekiel vs. Sastu

The sky was clear and there was a slight breeze, it was the perfect day. Satsu sat in his zoid his feet up on the dash of the machine. He was waiting for his opponent to show up. Satsu put his hands behind his head as he sat there. He started to fall asleep but woke himself up before it was to late. He had to be fully awake for this battle for it was his first with this zoid.

The sound of heavy footfalls and whirring servos filled the air. From the south, a grey Command Wolf trotted onto the scene. Slowly, it halted, a fair distance away from the mechanical snail. Behind the orange, shield, sitting in the cockpit, was a young man. His hair was white, and parted away from his face. His blue eyes stared in wonderment at the various screens before them. He'd only recently obtained the Command Wolf, Chaos, and had, in that very short time, already gotten accustomed to it. It had proved a bit fast, at first. However, the man had quickly gotten used to that speed. Now anything below a hundred kilometers seemed slow. The machine didn't handle too badly, either. Sure, it wasn't able to make a ninety degree turn at top speed, but that was a good thing. The sheer G-forces behind such a maneuver would leave the pilot as a red stain on the side of the cockpit.

The young man took a good look at the surroundings. It seemed the odds were in his favor. The opponent had chosen an open area for the fight, a rather barren wasteland. The only things that kept the impromptu arena from being completely flat, were a few small hills, no taller than an average, adult human, and a single plateau, at least two kilometers wide, and three tall. Nothing that Chaos couldn't handle.

Pressing a few buttons, the pilot summoned a vid screen to his dash. "Good afternoon," he said in a warm tone, "My name is Ezekiel, but you may call me Zeke. I will be your opponent today." He looked away from the screen for a moment, checking to make sure everything was in order. The readings showed no problems. This being the first time he pushed the Zoid so far, he wanted to make sure it was capable of being so. Slowly, his eyes locked back onto the screen. "Let's make it a good one."

Satsu jumped slightly as the vid screen came up moving his legs off the dash board and back into their respected poistions. Sastu looked away from the vid screen to see what zoid his opponent had. It was a Command Wolf, not the hardest zoid but definatly very fast.

Sastu looked back at the vid screen with a friendly smile on his face. "Good afternoon to you as well. Nice to meet you Zeke I am Satsu," said Sastu putting his feet back on teh dashboard. "So shall you make the first move or I," said Satsu looking around in the vid screen to see anything he could from the screen.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Satsu," Ezekiel responded, "You may have the first offensive move, if you can take it. However, you're going to have to beat me to the punch. I won't just sit back and take a bullet."

Even as he was finishing his sentence, he engaged the throttle. The grey wolf began moving again. At first, it was a slow pace, as the pilot was still speaking. When he'd finished, though, the throttle was thrown into full gear. Chaos' slow trot suddenly transformed into a sprint, heavy footfalls kicking up a cloud of dry dirt and dust in their wake. Nearing top speed in just about five seconds, Zeke kept his Zoid facing the opponent's. At the very last second, with just fifty meters between the two machines, he commanded the wolf to swerve left. The Zoid obeyed, passing the snail's right flank with ten meters to spare. Had he jolted to his right even the slightest bit, Chaos' shoulder would scrape against the snail's shell. The maneuver was meant to cause Satsu to falter, and delay the enemy pilot's actions while Ezekiel made his way to the rear flank.

The Command Wolf kept running, having passed its opponent. It had cleared a fair distance, at least four hundred meters, before the pilot slammed on the brakes, forcing a hard right. Chaos skidded to a halt, traveling sideways as its tail swung around to where the head once was. The second inertia gave way to friction, Zeke was on the throttle again, commanding Chaos to rush the snail's backside. If all want according to plan, he would make another pass, narrowly missing the opponent's left side. However, before swerving, this time, he'd squeeze off two rounds from the wolf's cannons, at extremely close range. He meant what he said about having to beat him to the punch. If Satsu had something that could shoot behind his Malder, then he'd succeed in doing just that.
